Ephesians 6& Colossians 3:20 Obedience
Ephesians 6 children, be obedient to your parents and all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. Colossians 6:1 children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
It all comes down to obedience and Authority. Parents don't provoke your children with anger, stop thinking in the flesh but turn to the Lord for discipline and instruction. This doesn't mean that if your parents don't following God's path that you can mistreat and disobey them, there's no partiality with God. Take my experiences for example, I was taken away from my biological mother because she wasn't being strong in the Lord. Instead of disciplining in God's word she neglected and abused us. She simply wasn't a follower of the Lord and she did not act and his word, she took her family for granted. When matters got out of hand, God washed it away and set me free. She didn't deserve to have her kids any longer, although God adopted me first he also gave me this life and then He restored me and gave me new parents who follow Christ. I was rewarded, and yet I took them for granted, I didn't see God's love for me and I did not see his hand over me, he knew this life that he had given me and yet he was waiting all along to restore me. He wanted to give me free will in the option to make the choice in following him, this is the true test of obedience submitting to those he has placed before me. This command to me seems hard and crucial but yet it is much needed for my heart to be restored and I must shake the dusty layers. For my application I will write down all of the Ten Commandments and put them in my Bible for remembrance of this each day.
