Luke 8:22-25 Jesus Stills the Sea

Luke 8:22-25
Now on one of those days Jesus and his disciples got into a boat, and he said to them "Let us go over to the other side of the lake". So they launched out. But as they were sailing along he fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. They came to Jesus and woke him up, saying, "Master, master, we are perishing"! And he got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm. And he said to them, "Where is your faith"? They were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, "who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him"?

This passage reminds me of my faith, if I see the storm my first response is to run. Just like Jesus disciples they stood there, frozen so full of doubt and no faith. I instantly wonder how could they be subjected to follow him and witness his miracles and yet be afraid? This reminds me of myself, usually I would commit to writing about the macabre events that have taken place in my life; and I quickly lose sight of all the blessings. The knife that's been taken out of me, the air I can finally breath. I no longer feel lost and ashamed, at times doubtful yes but God’s so patient and gracious with me. He is the missing puzzle piece. He never gives me to much I can't handle so for this I will remember to also have faith in the midst of the storm. For my application I will remember all the good things God has done for me, and all of the blessings in disguise. I will write these things down to remember them and continually put my trust in him.
