•God’s Bewildering Purpose•

Luke 18:31-34
[31] Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. [32] For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: [33] And they shall scourge him , and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. [34] And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. The bewildering call of God, bewildering, tangle or confusion a call that is difficult to understand. Jesus Christ was sent with a call, and God’s purpose is never the same as mans purpose. A call and purpose that the disciples although they walked with Christ; they did not fully understand. I could only imagine how they felt knowing that their messiah was going to die, the same man that loved them endlessly the same man they watched perform these miracles, was sent into this world only to die for us. It seemed to be failure from their standpoint but it was God’s purpose. Our real test as Christians is to truly believe that God knows what he desires and to have faith in that alone. Here in Guatemala with only two months left I can’t help but think about what the future holds but God giving me this promise; I know now that if we recognize that God is taking us into his purposes it is then that we will no longer strive to find out what his purposes are. A call that is not of our own understanding; a mountain that we must climb with faith knowing that it is God’s perfect purpose. The disciples were told of the perfect purpose and they still didn’t understand; I’m basically wearing a blindfold to his plan but I know that I can go in with God’s plan and purpose knowing the he is divinely shaping me into oneness with that purpose. Proverbs 20:24 says, Man's goings are of the Lord ; how can a man then understand his own way? God sealed the deal with this verse for me; the path I’m on in this life is the will of the lord and it’s his perfect purpose, it is bewildering the plans he has for me.
