Philippians 3:9

 9) and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.

Its human nature to seek God for what he can do for us, how we can be restored and made holy. This is a unrighteousness motivation that truly upsets God. He made the ultimate sacrifice by sending his only son to be crucified for our sins so that we can be made new. Its because of his grace that we get to seek eternal life and be forgiven, but it shouldn't be simple. We must sacrifice and let go of everything to be fully committed to God and his righteousness. I find myself getting so caught up with what I think is right or wrong like I'm studying a book of laws, this is ignorant, we are prone to make mistakes. I am filthy I don't deserve his love and forgiveness and yet he reassures me that it's okay to mess up but to also continually seek him. It's not what I've done but where my heart is and the righteousness to follow God comes from fathfulness. Being given this life it's our duty to serve him and share likeness with those who are lost and those who are self righteous. This life is for soul salvation which starts with faith, soul searching faith, enchanting faith, full consumption faith.
