1 Timothy 4:8
Discipline
8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Physical training may be useful to some, whether it's training for the Olympics or even just a steady hobby. Having the passion to wake up everyday and train takes some serious dedication and motivation. But acting in Godliness has a different kind of value, and everlasting value, holding the promise of a fruitful life then an everlasting life before christ. This takes some serious dedication, diving into God's word not just retaining the information but living by his word. I've found it to be the instruction and direction to my life it took me dedicating my life to him for a year in order to find the discipline I needed; and it's just beginning. I needed discipleship and to dedicate my life to him with no distractions. Not only dedicating my life to him but truly being his bond servant and having a intimate relationship with him. Gods promises are eternal and everlasting, useful for this life and the next. It's not about following a particular script but merely holding onto his promises and acting in them because this life isn't my own, I owe my life to my savior for this is my temporary home and the kingdom awaits. To apply this to my life I will read all of 1 Timothy 4 and hold fast to the instructions given.
