Mark 4 10-11 Teachable
10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables. This part of the passage strikes my admiration for our savior evenmore, Jesus wasn't only an artist but he spoke in a manner that most wouldn't understand. The Twelve were chosen by God and Jesus was yet a man who walked in the life of a servant, we he spoke he drew crowds and all were enticed by his wisdom and the Miracles he performed. Many of his followers just wanted to be witnesses and others wanted something from him and some truly didnt know he was messiah. He walked as if he was only a man and not the savior although he spoke what was to come. When these crowds would come to hear him speak he used the choice of parables to see who was really following him. The parables spoke truth and wisdom and those who weren't his sheep would admit their faults by simply not understanding the Lord's teaching in parables. The disciples knew what was to come and though one would deny Jesus they all knew the secret to the kingdom of God and the Lord continued disciplining them. The parables have taught me many striking life directions and to hold fast to these I will read a parable once a week during my field time.
