•Everlasting Love•
Mark 12 42-44
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
In our flesh we are quick to do good works simply to only please God, and we forget the reason we should be serving in the first place. It’s not about what we do but what’s in our heart and why we are doing it. Jesus came born in the flesh and serving others, he didn’t think of himself as superior or of higher statue but he simply had a heart to serve others. Giving your life as a sacrifice is a spiritual sacrifice that God is pleased with. We don’t have to prove anything to him by what we do, we just have to yield and submit to his will with an open heart. If his will for us is ministry then we must yield and offer this life up as a sacrifice for him. The widow for instance she was poor and all she had was a coin to offer as a sacrifice, and those that were rich offered more but God was pleased with the widow because she gave all she had; she gave her last. It’s not about what we do or what we have it’s that we offer it with a good heart. Even the rich couldn’t please God. During this time and season I know that my heart must be in the right place in order for me to fully sacrifice my life to him.
